Measures roughly 33” long, and is made of heavy, densely stacked layers of leather, creating a multicolored, textured “striping” effect. The handle is a rustic hand carved bird head. Most resembling an eagle. As indicated in photos, the handle screws off, and the top of the eagle’s head appears to have, at one point, been “poked through” by the threaded metal rod to which attaches handle. Tip of cane is sheathed with a metal sleeve for protection and durability. Made by a prisoner in the US penal system in early part of the second half of the 1800s. Sold as pictured.
