Amazing & Unique Antique Piece. Austrian Jewelry Powder Box by Josef Hoffman, ca 1905. Josef Hoffmann studied architecture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, Austria, under Art Nouveau architect Otto Wagner whose theories of functional modern architecture profoundly influenced Hoffman's work. Masterful hand-crafted filigree bronze rounded lid decorated with stones, Josef (15 December 1870 – 7 May 1956) was an Austrian-Moravian architect and designer. He was among the founders of Vienna Secession and co-establisher of the Wiener Werkstätte. His most famous architectural work is the Stoclet Palace, in Brussels, (1905–1911) all stones are a present and sound. Please examine photos for full details and description. All sales will be final.
