Cat Pendant made from a vintage silver American Walking Liberty half dollar coin. You can see the coin on the reverse side. It can be worn with either side facing out. This pendant comes on a sterling silver bead chain. Please select length from the drop-down menu. To make one of these pieces, the face is sanded off on one side of a coin (except for those pieces with the coin image on both sides). Then using traditional hammering & forging techniques, the shape is formed, the designs are implanted, & the piece is domed with a block & punches. Due to the substantial weight of the coins, there is quite a bit of labor involved. The piece is polished by hand & cast, using the lost wax method. The pieces are immersed in a blackening solution & polished. The finished piece of jewelry is cleaned & ready to be worn. Thanks for looking. Enjoy!
